The moon hangs high with a haunting glow. Jack O’ Lanterns have begun to make their ghastly appearance known, and people the world over are indulging their interests in all things spooky and macabre. Halloween is just a week away, and the time is right for a Grand Strand golf getaway.

With over 100 word-renowned golf courses, each engineered by the most respected names in golf and tailored towards every playing level, it may be difficult to decide where you and your friends want to play first. Not to worry, the Myrtle Beach Golf Authority is here to make your decision a little easier with in-depth looks at a few of Myrtle Beach’s premier courses.

This week, we will be looking at the enchanting Witch Golf Club.

Just a few miles away from downtown Myrtle Beach lies the historic river town of Conway, SC, and the mesmerizing Witch Golf Club. Designed in 1989 by the legendary Dan Maples, this enigmatic golf course spans over 500 acres of haunting blackwater forests and serene low country wetlands. With a 133 slope and a course rating of 71.2, golfers of all handicaps will adore playing on this magical, par-71 masterpiece.

Over 4,000 ft of bridges connect span this immaculate 6800-yard course and offer the perfect opportunity for a quick pre-game photo op. With five Par-3s, The Witch is not a painfully long course. What the course lacks in length; however, it more than makes up for with spectacular design. Featuring more than 42 feet of natural elevation change, the course’s undulating fairways are an integral factor in each hole’s unique challenge and mesmerizing beauty.

The course’s signature hole is the Par-4 finisher to the front nine. While it is only 376 yards from the black, this harrowing hole will force you to muster every ounce of skill you possess. As you drive over thick marshland, you must strategically avoid the various trees that line both sides of the bend before forcing you to clear the nefarious water hazard that guards the green like a monstrous dragon guarding its hoard.

If you and your golf group are looking for a scary good time during your next Grand Strand golf getaway, then book your tee time at The Witch Golf Club as part of your custom golf package from the Myrtle Beach Golf Authority
